For most brands, the quality of the co-packer matters far more than their zip code. We ship finished goods to brands all over the country, and the freight difference between a facility in California, Texas, or Minnesota is typically modest relative to the production cost of a run.

That said, location creates real advantages in a few specific areas:

Freight costs for inbound materials

Your ingredients and film have to get to us somehow. If you're based in Chicago, Milwaukee, Kansas City, or anywhere in the upper Midwest, shipping to Minneapolis is often cheaper and faster than shipping to a coast. Ingredients from major Chicago-area distributors can reach us in 1–2 days via ground freight at commodity rates.

Being able to visit

There's something irreplaceable about being able to drive to your co-packer, walk the facility, and watch a run. For brands based in the Twin Cities or within a day's drive — Wisconsin, Iowa, North and South Dakota, Nebraska, northern Illinois — that's a real option. We welcome production visits.

Local supplier network

Overgang has relationships with corrugated suppliers, freight brokers, and ingredient distributors in the Twin Cities. For brands that don't yet have these relationships built, we can make introductions. Local vendors often quote faster and communicate more reliably than national accounts for smaller volumes.
